Birthday List: 2005
The thing I want most this year, I think, is a birthday cake I don't have to make myself. Lemon, with vanilla buttercreme frosting... I think Namaste does some good baking mixes, and I'm willing to provide a box of mix and a recipe for buttercreme if necessary (it's easy). I just don't want to have to make it myself.
As always, I issue the standard disclaimer: I am not expecting gifts from anyone (okay, maybe my parents). I'm not going to be analyzing IP addresses to see who has looked at this page so that I can track you down and demand a gift. This is only to suggest options to those who would like to get something, and anything not on the list is still okay. Always grip firmly while in motion, do not expose to heat, all characters are fictional and would never even think about eating your dog.
CDs
I'm requesting that (if possible) music come used or burned. I am not particularly happy with the RIAA at the moment, and while my small boycott may not even register, it at least makes me feel better. And it brings CDs down to a halfway-reasonable price again.
- Seal - "Human Being"
"I'm Alive" single
any other singles you may come across :) - Banco de Gaia - Ten Years
- Ookla the Mok - Oh Okay LA
- The soundtrack to Run Lola Run
- Arrogant Worms - any other than "Live Bait"
Books
Maybe I'm predictable... but at least I'm predictable.
- Tomato Diseases: A Practical Guide for Seedsmen, Growers and Agricultural Advisors, by Seminis Vegetable Seeds [$30]. Yes, it's a mouthful, but it's a good book.
And, since life is not just gardening:
- Tamora Pierce - Circle of Magic - Sandry's Book, Tris' Book, Daja's Book, Briar's Book
- Hush (1 and 2), Stracynsky's Midnight Nation, Batman: Contagion (ask at Flying Colors) [$15-25]
- Hellboy: Odd Jobs, Lost Army, Conqueror Worm, Weird Tales [~20 apiece, no particular order]
Other
- USB thumb drive. As large or small, as cheap or expensive as you like.
- A year of a paid LJ account [$35] Thanks, Jack! *hugs*
- Gift certificates to Coldwater Creek and other large-woman clothing stores
- Gift certificates to bead or yarn stores
- Another CD folder for the car -- I can't carry all the things I want to.
- Myst 4. Somehow I missed this one.
- CD-RWs. That's the rewriteable ones... mine are old, and rated at only 4x. They come in handy.
