the voice of deepest midnight velvet
speaks of dragon things,
of worlds beyond imagining of men
of floating above the earth and sea,
suspended weightless on the wind.

spines and horns and talons
a form of whipcord strength;
a truncated air and song of a name,
jeweled and beaded, patterns of color
blend with the music of gold.

iron will and crystalline thought
clear and precise as diamonds,
labyrinthine eyes of starlight
from the void between the many worlds,
from time immeasurable and still.

love is not a thing of dragons...

deep within the dreams of mortals,
on the untouched shore of the sea,
the misty air sings the song of dragons:
words of steel and silk and magic,
stars and ice and time.
